This exciting marketing seminar will empower artists and managers with the tools required to make it as an independent artist in this rapidly changing digital marketplace. This is a practical workshop showing you how to plan and develop effective online music marketing and promotion strategies to raise awareness, build and maintain a fan-base and create a successful music living by targeting a global audience.

Some of the topics covered include: Writing an online promotion plan, developing online promotion and distribution strategies, effective web design, online tools and software, social networking, generating online publicity, internet radio, and online branding.

There are a lot of different ideas currently out there on how to get the most out of the online environment. In recognition of this information overload and conflicting ideas and opinions this seminar was developed in association with the Musicoz Artist Development Program to provide a clear basic understanding of what is available to independent artists and possible approaches that can be taken. This is the first seminar in a series being developed by Musicoz to try and provide practical information for musicians striving to make an income from their musical aspirations.

The seminar series is to be facilitated by Shane Murphy, a lecturer in music marketing at Griffith University and Southern Cross University. Shane is also the director of the Arts Marketing Institute, which provides specialist marketing training for the creative industries. Shane has worked for over 15 years in all aspects of the music industry and is currently working with Musicoz on its training programs for independent artists.
